Good scooter, fast delivery

Rented a Yamaha NMAX 155cc in Patong. It was delivered to my hotel quickly. Scooter ran well. No issues. Pick up was also smooth. Good experience.

Consistently reliable service

This was my third time renting from Bikago, and as usual, they didn't disappoint. I got the Honda PCX 160cc for my two weeks in Ubud. Like my previous rentals (a Honda Vario in Seminyak and a Yamaha Lexi in Uluwatu), the scooter was in great condition, and the included insurance gave me peace of mind. Delivery to the villa was punctual, and the pick-up process was just as easy. It's why I keep coming back – the consistency and reliability are worth it. Never had a problem with their bikes or their service. They even remembered my name from a previous booking when I called with a question, which was a nice touch.

Do they ever have coupon codes for first-time users? Or just the long-term stuff?

J Julia S. 2 months ago
I think sometimes travel partners might have codes, but I haven't seen one specifically for first-timers on their site. Mostly it's for longer rentals.

Nah, didn't see any first-timer codes when I booked. The best deals are definitely for weekly or monthly rentals, that's where you save the most.

Is insurance included or do I gotta pay extra for that peace of mind?

K Kate 2 months ago
It's part of the deal. They include it, which is nice. Don't have to worry about adding it on.

Yeah, pretty sure the standard insurance is built into their prices. It covers basic stuff, but you can always double-check what exactly is included.

I'm looking at a Yamaha NMAX from them, but Bali Bike Rental is a bit cheaper. Is Bikago worth the extra cost?

B Ben Lindqvist 2 months ago
I'd say so. Bikago's bikes are usually in better shape and their customer service was really responsive when I had a question. Worth the peace of mind for me.

For me, the included insurance and reliable delivery made Bikago worth it. I've heard mixed things about some of the cheaper places when it comes to breakdowns or issues.

Can I use my regular US driver's license, or do I need some kind of international permit for a scooter in Phuket?

B Brett 2 months ago
You'll probably need an international driving permit. Most places in Southeast Asia require it for motorbikes.

Definitely get an IDP. The police there can be strict about it, and it's super easy to get from AAA or similar before you leave.

What's the deal with cancellations? My plans are a bit up in the air right now.

G Greg 1 month ago
Yeah, check their policy. Most rental places have a cut-off point for free cancellations. Better to know for sure before you commit.

I had to cancel once, it was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you do it within their timeframe, I think it's 48 hours or something like that to avoid fees.
